Mogherini in Washington to defend Iran nuclear deal

TEHRAN – European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini on Monday left for Washington to defend the Iran nuclear deal.

According to the European External Action Service, she will meet with U.S. Vice President Mike Pence as well as with a number of leading members of U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, including Paul Ryan, the speaker of the House of Representatives.

Mogherini will also address the House of Representatives’ Republican Conference, the source added.

“The visit will also be an opportunity to meet with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano.”
